CommScope subsidiary iTRACS has updated its data center infrastructure management (DCIM) capabilities, releasing Converged Physical Infrastructure Management (CPIM) 3.1 with myAnalytics, an analytics engine for DCIM reporting and business analysis.
George Brooks, senior VP of enterprise product and market management at CommScope, said this was the next step in the evolution of iTRACS DCIM. “With the myAnalytics engine, you can gain important insights about power, space, network and other vital data center resources,” he said.
“This is a personalized analytics tool to help you uncover new opportunities to improve data center operations, planning and cost efficiency.”
The solution comes with a series of standard reports on power, space and other metrics.
ITRACS has enhanced change management capabilities for faster time-to-value. Servers and other IT assets can brought online faster with CPIM 3.1's enhanced Workflow Manager.
The end-to-end IT service management-based workflow includes change request through review, approval, plan, execution and confirmation. It is easily integrated with ticketing systems like ServiceNow and Siebel.
All CPIM database updates are done automatically, eliminating delays or human errors often associated with conventional change management.
The release includes a new power capping capability with Intel Data Center Manager. This enables data center managers to proactively manage when, where and how energy is consumed.
“You can analyze server power consumption against workloads to identify idle, low-demand, or non-peak periods,” Brooks said. “You can then develop policies that restrict power consumption during those periods, reducing overall energy costs while letting you allocate more power to critical revenue-generating servers in peak periods.”
