Eaton has integrated its power management system with EMC’s VSPEX infrastructure systems.
The integrated system is aimed at private clouds, data centers and end-user computing.
Eaton said its target is to simplify power infrastructure deployment for the VSPEX platform.
Eaton’s 9PX uninterruptible power system (UPS), managed ePDU rack-based power distribution units and Intelligent Power Manager software were the first components to receive lab verification from EMC for VSPEX interoperability.
“Eaton has integrated power with virtualization platforms since 2009,” Hervé Tardy, VP and general manager of Eaton’s distributed power quality division said.
“Providing solutions for the VSPEX platform is a natural extension of this effort."
Eaton and EMC are now working with distributor Ingram Micro, which is helping to design and integrate the VSPEX system with lab-tested Eaton components.
Ingram Micro’s director of the storage business unit Ronald Villa said both vendors know it is important to streamline the integration process for the people who have to sell and install the systems.
“[They must] accelerate virtualization and converged infrastructure deployment in order to support its channel partners with a consistent, reliable solution for end-users,” Villa said.
