Edge is already here in some use cases, but it is still nascent, says Martin Olsen. To help understand its arrival, Vertiv came up with four Edge archetypes: "It's a way to bring some clarity to the industry," he explained.
The physical roll-out of Edge is evolving, from an early emphasis on micro data centers at cellular towers. "There's been a lot of talk about how we'll put everything at the base of towers but we've pulled back on that."
