Jim Gao is the CEO and co-founder of Phaidra—an AI company that makes autonomous, self-learning control systems for mission-critical facilities. Prior to Phaidra, Jim launched DeepMind Energy, a business division within Deepmind dedicated to applying AI to mitigate climate change. This included reducing Google's data center cooling energy by up to 30% via machine learning. Jim started his career as a mechanical engineer on Google's data center engineering team, where he was responsible for Google's PUE.
