Zoom has partnered with data center provider Center3 to deploy a node in Saudi Arabia.

The node, Zoom's first in the Kingdom, will provide infrastructure to help address demand for its low-latency conferencing platform.

"As part of our mission to provide seamless and reliable communications globally, this node deployment in Saudi Arabia represents a crucial step forward," said Mohannad Alkalash, head of METAP at Zoom. "Through our partnership with Center3, we have strengthened our capability to address the specific needs of users in the Middle-East region, delivering faster and more reliable experiences essential for modern collaboration."

"Our partnership with Zoom exemplifies our dedication to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure that empowers our customers," added Fahad AlHajeri, CEO of Center3. "This collaboration furthermore aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, supporting the localization of digital applications to benefit both the Kingdom and the broader region."

The companies have not shared which Center3 data center the node is being hosted in.

According to Center3, the company has 25 data centers across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Earlier this week, Zoom announced its plans to use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia to optimize its AI models and for AI inferencing workloads. Oracle's Saudi cloud region in Riyadh is hosted in a Center3 data center.

Zoom is also a customer of Amazon Web Services. In March 2024, the company announced it would be reducing its dependence on cloud services, instead focusing on its 29 colocated data centers worldwide. It is a customer of Equinix and Digital Realty, among others.

In October 2024, DataVolt and Center3 announced a partnership to provide data center operations and maintenance in Saudi Arabia. The Memorandum of Understanding will see the pair provide operations and maintenance services for data centers in the kingdom, with plans for future regional expansion.
