The facility will offer 40MW once complete in mid-2026, bringing the total capacity of the London campus to 100MW.

Other specifications have not yet been shared.

Yondr secured planning permission for the third facility in August last year, shortly after it had completed its first London 30MW facility. The second 30MW facility is currently under construction.

Yondr added all three facilities will deliver reliable data capacity and sustainability, in line with its sustainability strategy and 2030 target for Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon neutrality.

Solar panels are expected to be installed on the roof of the buildings, and in collaboration with the Slough Borough Council and the Canal & River Trust, the company said its building will “actively enhance biodiversity and improve the canal side, with a focus on aesthetics and active transport access for local residents.”

“The plans for this third building on our London campus show a clear evolution of our data center design and delivery capabilities. It demonstrates just how far we have come in embracing sustainability to deliver our carbon neutrality goals and bring forward exemplary data center developments,” said Peter Hill, VP of design and construction EMEA, Yondr.

“Breaking ground on this project is a milestone not just for this building, but also for our London campus and our increasingly strong presence in Europe.”

Slough is one of the main data center hubs in the UK, with CyrusOne, NTT, Equinix, and Kao all having a presence in the area. It has continued to see development with Iron Mountain and Digital Realty both planning facilities in the area.
