QC24, the fourth and final facility on the campus, will deliver an additional 32MW of IT capacity, bringing the four-building campus to a total of 86MW across 925,000 sq ft. The data center is expected to be operational in early 2027. The site will be powered by energy from Hydro-Québec.

“We are proud to have contributed to the continued growth of Canada’s burgeoning digital economy over the past six years and are pleased to reaffirm our commitment to delivering sustainable digital infrastructure through our latest investment,” said Maxime Guévin, Vantage’s senior vice president and general manager, Canada. “This project will help drive innovation, meet cloud and AI demand, and create high-quality jobs while supporting a digital future in Québec. We are excited to continue expanding our footprint in the province, and we look forward to welcoming customers to this facility next year.”

Vantage’s Canadian portfolio currently includes four developing or operational campuses in Québec City and Montreal. Upon completion, the campuses will offer a total computing capacity of 178MW.

Vantage entered Canada in 2019 after acquiring 4Degrees Colocation from Videotron Ltd., a Quebecor Media Inc. (QMI) subsidiary, in January 2019. At the time, it took over a campus in Québec and another in Montreal. It then acquired Hypertec’s Canadian data center business in 2020, taking over another campus in Québec .

The company has since announced a second site in Montreal as well as an expansion to the two existing sites.

Vantage secured US$75 million in senior financing to Vantage to support the expansion of its Québec City QC2 campus last year from Canadian pension fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).
