UK regional Edge provider Pulsant has launched a private cloud offering.
The Pulsant Private Cloud is designed to help customers meet rising digital sovereignty requirements while remaining cost-effective and compliant with regulations.
“According to Accenture, 37 percent of European enterprises have already invested in new infrastructure models, with a further 44 percent planning to in the next two years,” said Mike Hoy, CTO, Pulsant. “But in achieving best sovereignty practice, UK businesses must ensure that their data is not only stored close to home within UK borders, but that it resides in a secure, resilient, and connected infrastructure."
The Pulsant Private Cloud will be hosted in Pulsant's owned and operated data centers in the UK - Croydon LN-1, Newcastle NE-1, and Edinburgh SC-1.
Hoy added that via the private cloud, Pulsant will offer AI services.
"Private AI, that is AI applications hosted in a private cloud, mitigates risk in the form of unauthorized data sharing and security breaches, and delivers more tailored and reliable performance. And with private data volumes estimated to be nine times greater than public data on the internet, keeping AI models close to data sources unlocks powerful opportunities, helps alignment with business models, and fosters innovation," said Hoy.
Founded in 1995, Pulsant was acquired by Antin Infrastructure Partners in 2021. The company operates a total of 12 data centers in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Rotherham, Milton Keynes, Maidenhead, Reading, Manchester, and Croydon.
The company powered up an expansion at its Manchester data center in March 2024
