A third Yandex data center in Russia has been hit during drone strikes.

As reported by the BBC, Ukrainian strikes hit Yandex's Vladimir data center, the third attack in just a week, forcing Yandex to pause operations at the site.

This is also the third of Yandex's five large data centers to have been hit. According to Yandex, no one was hurt in the attack, but some of its services remain unavailable.

The company's status page currently states there is an "unavailability of Yandex Cloud zones" and that "the platform continues to operate in a limited mode."

At least 84 services have been taken down.

The other data centers that have been hit during drone strikes include the Yandex DC Sasovo (Thursday), which suffered a fire, bringing operations down at the facility, and the company's data center in Kaluga (Friday).

The Sasovo data center houses two of Yandex's three supercomputers.

With the latest strike, Yandex noted in a post on X that the Vladimir data center was home to its services, and thus "many of you still can't check your balance, pay for a purchase, or transfer your money."

The company added: "First, the main thing: all your money is safe. The money itself is not stored in the data center. Servers are located there, which ensure the operation of services. Records of each account are stored in multiple copies on different platforms. We have verified their integrity: not a single record has been lost."

Yandex has stated that it is working to restore services, but has not provided a timeline for when they are expected to resume.

The attacks have also suddenly cut traffic from bot HTTP requests originating in Russia. Cloudflare's tracker noted an initial drop on October 8 after the Sasovo strike, with bot HTTP requests dropping to 54.7 percent of the max, and in the morning of October 11, dropping to just 0.3 percent. This has since increased to ~10 percent, but remains limited.

The Ukraine-Russia conflict is now in its fifth year. Throughout the conflict, Russia has carried out strikes that have hit data centers in Ukraine. Multiple Ukrainian data centers have been hit in just the last few weeks.

Facilities in Ukraine operated by Parkovyi Data Center, MiroHost, Datagroup, Vodafone Ukraine, De Novo, Cosmonova, Omega Telecom, and Ukrtelecom have all suffered damage from drone strikes.
