Telkom Indonesia has launched a new data center in Yogyakarta.
“NeuCentrIX is officially present in Pugeran, Yogyakarta!” the company said this week. Specifications of the new facility were not shared.
NeuCentrIX is one of Telkom Indonesia’s data center units, operating a total of 1,900 racks across 17 cities. The company noted the new facility is the 25th data center owned by the telco.
The inauguration was attended by the Telkom board of directors, as well as the first customers of the Pugeran facility, PT Jembatan Citra Nusantara, and Kasih Ibu Hospital (RSKI).
The Pugeran data center is also the second location in Yogyakarta, after previously launching a site in the Kotabaru area.
NeuCentrIX last year launched facilities in Banda Aceh and Bandar Lampung.
Telkom Indonesia also operates data centers under its NeutraDC unit. According to its website, NeutraDC operates two hyperscale data centers in Cikarang and Batam in Indonesia; as well as three core data centers in Sentul, Serpong, and Surabaya; and 21 Edge facilities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan.
In 2022, Telkom Indonesia was reportedly considering a sale of its data center unit with a valuation of $1bn. The company was again said to be looking for an investor in the unit earlier this year.
