Takoda Data Centers, the spinoff business of Brazilian IT multinational company Tivit, is in talks with interested parties to sell its operations and sites.
First reported by BNamericas, the market sounding and engagement is being carried out by Brazilian Bank Itaú and US-based Citizens Bank.
Takoda Data Centers declined to comment when contacted by the publication.
The company’s enterprise market value is estimated at around $250 million. Its data center footprint comprises two facilities in São Paulo, SP01 and SP02; one in Rio de Janeiro (RJ01); and one in Bogotá (BG01).
Its partners and customers include telcos such as AT&T, Vivo, TIM, and Claro, as well as V.tal, Ufinet, and energy group Halliburton.
According to market sources, this is the fifth time that Tivit has explored selling its data center business and operations.
Takonda was first launched by Tivit in January 2023, with Eduardo Sodero heading up the firm as CEO.
