Spirent Communication’s cloud infrastructure and application testing solutions will be available with HP Cloud Services.
The company’s are teaming up to offer customers the ability to validate the Performance, Availability, Security and Scale (PASS) of their cloud infrastructure, using Spirent solutions and services from within HP Cloud Services.
Customers who are managing business critical networks, applications and services need to ensure that their virtualized infrastructure is reliable and secure for end users.
HP Cloud Services customers will be able to use testing solutions such as Spirent Avalanche Virtual and Spirent iTest along with Spirent’s professional services to find choke points in performance during auto-scaling or cloud-bursting.
“As an integrated HP Cloud Services partner providing testing services focused on the underlying infrastructure of networking, storage, and computing resources, Spirent is pleased to be able to support the needs of enterprise IT organizations,” said Jeff Schmitz, vice president of the Networks & Applications group at Spirent. “A significant amount of cloud traffic typically occurs within a public cloud infrastructure. Being able to test from within HP Cloud Services is an extremely effective and necessary way for IT managers to develop and implement strategies which take full advantage of cloud computing and HP Cloud Services”
Spirent is the leader in cloud computing networks and services testing. Spirent Avalanche Virtual, designed to test and measure the performance, availability, security and scalability of virtualized network infrastructures, enables customers ensure the overall quality of their cloud infrastructure.
Spirent Avalanche Virtual allows customers to run tests from within the cloud to determine user Quality of Experience (QoE) and resiliency of multiple streaming video services, IPsec and SSL encryption, and web-based applications in presence of a security glitches such as a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
These types of tests help customers to better design and deploy their physical and virtual network infrastructure. Spirent iTest, designed to orchestrate all the different devices (both physical and virtual) found in today’s cloud infrastructures, enables customers to automate testing of their cloud infrastructure.
Separately Spirent said Gnodal selected Spirent TestCenter HyperMetrics dX to showcase the performance of the GS-Series Family of switches including the GS-Series 40G Ethernet switch. Gnodal conducted low latency performance testing of the GS4008 and GS0072 High Speed Ethernet switches individually as well as part of a two-tier data center fabric.
The demonstration features the 32-port Spirent HyperMetrics dX, generating traffic to Gnodal top of rack switches, interconnected with the new GS-Series 40G Ethernet switch.
