Solaria enters the data center market – Solaria

The company this week announced it has created the company Solaria Data Center. The firm will use its own electrical infrastructure linked to its energy generation projects to power the facilities, along with its own fiber.

Solaria said it has obtained from Spanish grid operator Red Eléctrica the viability of access and connection for the supply of demand for a total of 155MW for data centers, and has requested another 860MW for the same purpose.

Further details – including data center locations or specifications – haven’t been disclosed.

Founded in 2002, Solaria operates dozens of solar farms around Spain, and also has sites in Portugal, Sardinia, and mainland Italy, Greece, and Uruguay. The company has around 1.7GW of capacity in operation, and is due to reach 4.3GW by 2026.
