A new data center has been proposed in Hampton, Georgia.

According to local reports, Southeast Property Holdings has applied for a conditional use permit for 133 acres at the northwest corner of State Route 20 and McDonough Street in Hampton, Henry County, south of Atlanta.

According to the city’s legal notice, the applicant proposes light industrial land use for a data center campus.

The city council is expected to hold a public hearing on the proposed project in February.

Further details on the data center were not disclosed. The company behind the project is unclear.

Atlanta is a significant data center hub, with many developments clustered around Fulton and Douglas Counties west of Atlanta.

Last year, another data center was proposed in Hampton. In May, Swearingen Consulting submitted a development of regional impact application with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a data center project known as 0 Rocky Creek.
