According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the data center, dubbed Project Kati II, will span a single building totaling 471,884 sq ft (43,839 sqm). The filing stipulates that the data center will cost approximately $471.8 million to construct and will be privately funded on private land for private use. The filing did not provide a timeline for the data center's construction.

News of the project first arose in January, with the data center expected to be constructed in partnership with Metrobloks. Soluna subsequently confirmed that a definitive joint venture agreement was signed on June 3.

The project is seemingly an extension of the company’s Project Kati I data center. The data center has a planned capacity of 166MW at full buildout, with 83MW as part of its first phase. Initial energization began on February 9, 2026, and Phase I was completed in September 2026. The data center is connected to the 273 MW Las Majadas Wind Project, which serves the project behind the meter.

Soluna is a cryptocurrency mining firm that utilizes renewable energy projects as its primary power source. The company has a total operational capacity of 192MW and 11 data center sites in various stages of development.

This includes the 187MW Project Rosa site in Texas; the 50MW Dorothy I A and B, as well as 48MW Dorothy II, again in Texas; Project Sophie, a 25MW data center in Kentucky; and the 2MW Grace site in Texas.

In August, the firm acquired a 397-acre plot in Briscoe County, Texas, where it plans to build its Project Dorothy III data center. The campus is expected to have a capacity of up to 300MW and will sit adjacent to two other projects on the site, Dorothy I and II. The data center is expected to be powered by renewable energy, sitting next to the 150MW Briscoe onshore wind farm, which the company purchased in April.
