“SMX01 has officially commenced operations on 1 November 2026, adding 21MW of AI-ready data center capacity to Indonesia’s digital infrastructure landscape,” the company said on LinkedIn.

Located in Jakarta’s central business district, the carrier-neutral SMX01 features four network entry points and offers liquid-cooling capabilities alongside conventional air-cooling systems.

The $300 million data center was first announced in September 2024 as a joint venture between LG Sinar Mas, SM+ Data Centers, and Korea Investment Real Asset Management. Construction started in March 2025.

The company previously said the data center is set to have a total capacity of 27MW with a first-phase target of 6MW. SMX01 will support high-density workloads, with up to 130kW per rack.

Taiwanese cloud and AI infrastructure provider Konst is leasing capacity at the facility. On LinkedIn, the company said it has taken on 15MW of liquid-cooled capacity at SMX01. It is the company’s first deployment in Indonesia.

LG Sinar Mas is a 50:50 joint venture between LG CNS, a South Korean data center and IT services company, and SM+.

Jakarta-based SM+ is a digital infrastructure and services platform backed by local conglomerate Sinar Mas and founded in 2023. It has two divisions: SM+ Data Centers owns and operates 25 data centers across Indonesia, amounting to some 40MW of operational and under-development IT load capacity. SM+ Technology Solutions, meanwhile, operates as an IT service provider and systems integrator.

Founded in 2024, Taiwanese cloud provider and AI infrastructure company Konst is headquartered in Nangang, Taipei. Its operations include GPU data center construction, GPU cloud services, bare-metal leasing, colocation services, and AI infrastructure. Built using Nvidia hardware, Konst’s network spans nine countries across three continents, comprising 42MW of operational and under-development capacity.
