As part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Qareeb will secure sites for the two companies to build Pantheon Bitcoin mining facilities.

The Bitcoin mining facilities will be located adjacent to Qareeb’s existing or under-development colocation facilities.

Qareeb will also deliver full-fitted and operational solutions for Pantheon as part of the deal.

"Partnering with Pantheon represents a significant opportunity for Qareeb, as we collaborate with one of the most exciting visionaries in the Bitcoin mining industry," said Annemarie van Zadelhoff, chief strategy officer at Qareeb. "Pantheon's dedication to innovation and operational excellence aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver state-of-the-art data center solutions across the Middle East. By leveraging our expertise in turnkey project management, site acquisition, permitting, and operations, we are proud to ensure Pantheon's facilities are fully fitted, operational, and supported by our 24/7 regional team.”

Nick van Houtrijve, COO and founder of Pantheon, added: "Pantheon's expansion into the GCC is a strategic milestone as we continue to set new benchmarks for operational efficiency and performance. This partnership with Qareeb enables us to establish robust infrastructure in one of the fastest-growing Bitcoin mining markets globally.

Pantheon Mining was founded in 2022 by Lodewyck Berghuys and Nick van Houtrijve. The pair have previously operated in China and Kazakhstan before mining confiscation in China and grid constraints in Kazakhstan impacted business.

Bahrain-based Qareeb Data Centres provides Edge data center solutions across the Middle East. The company is currently deploying 50MW of capacity across markets in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt.

At the end of last year, the company signed an MoU with Batelco to develop a "White Space Data Center" in Bahrain as part of Beyon Group's Data Oasis, expected to be Qareeb's first data center.

Around the same time, Qareeb also partnered with Gcore for digital infrastructure, AI, and cloud services in the Middle East.
