Large Arizona data center provider Phoenix NAP has bought Secured Servers, a company owned by the same group of people that owns Phoenix NAP and that was also one of the first tenants at the provider’s data center in Phoenix.
Scott Reiland, Phoenix NAP spokesman, said Phoenix NAP bought Secured Servers to add a “bare metal” dedicated-hosting offering to its portfolio, which has been focused largely on providing data center and cloud-based services to enterprises.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Following completion of the acquisition, Phoenix NAP has added a new offering to its portfolio, called Phoenix NAP Secured Servers, combining the two companies’ names.
“Phoenix NAP is the brand; Secured Servers is an offering of the brand,” Reiland explained.
Phoenix NAP has recently completed a series of upgrades to network infrastructure in its data center, implementing a completely new network design. The Secure Servers offering will take advantage of these upgrades.
Jordan Jacobs, director of corporate strategy at Phoenix NAP, said every layer of the network was upgraded. “We are confident it will route traffic efficiently while accommodating continued growth."
