CenturyLink said that Jim Ousley, CEO of Savvis, has decided to retire from the company effective April 1, 2013.

Ousley's role as senior leader of Savvis will be filled by Jeff Von Deylen, whose title will remain president of Savvis.

"Since our Savvis merger, CenturyLink has become a recognized global leader in managed hosting and cloud services thanks in part to the efforts of Savvis employees and leaders like Jim Ousley and Jeff Von Deylen," Glen F Post III, CenturyLink CEO and president said.

"We will miss Jim's presence and wish him well as he heads into retirement, and we look forward to continued growth and success in our data hosting segment (of which Savvis is a part) under Jeff's leadership."

Von Deylen was named Savvis president in November 2012. He joined the organization in 2003 as CFO and a board member. He will report directly to his post effective April 1.

Ousley was appointed chairman and CEO of Savvis in March 2010. He served as non-executive chairman of Savvis from 2006 to 2010. He first joined Savvis as a member of its board of directors in 2002.

Savvis has also announced a new country managers for Japan, Osamu Numata, and Singapore and Hong Kong, Tan Teng Cheong.

Both leaders will focus on driving growth in Savvis cloud, managed hosting and colocation services across their respective regions in Asia.

"Asia continues to be a key strategic growth region for Savvis," Mark Smith, managing director for Savvis Asia said.

"I am delighted to have Osamu and Teng Cheong join our global team, and I am confident they will provide quality leadership as we grow to serve the IT infrastructure needs of businesses seeking a presence in Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong."

Osamu brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry to Savvis, most recently serving as director, enterprise services sales, for HP Japan. He has also led business expansion through leadership roles with Oracle Japan, Wipro Japan and Information Services International-Dentsu.

Teng Cheong joins Savvis from Motorola Solutions, where he served as director, enterprise strategic accounts, South East Asia. For more than 20 years, he has served regional technology clients through leadership roles with Dell Singapore, Sybase and HiSoft Technology International Ltd.
