"Edge computing is the natural extension for our solutions portfolio as organizations seek to deploy applications that need to process data near where it is created," said TJ Houske, CEO of Otava. "Scale Computing is a clear leader in the category and our partnership enables our ability to help our customers struggling to maintain highly distributed infrastructure that is reliable, resilient, and secure."

"Otava provides world-class cloud infrastructure and data resilience solutions that protect businesses against all vectors of attack in today's digital landscape," said Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder of Scale Computing. "As customers look to have their applications available wherever they need them, the blending of cloud, hybrid cloud, and Edge computing will continue to be a priority in all industries. We are excited to work with Otava as they expand their offerings to include Edge computing."

Scale Computing's Edge platform brings together virtualization, servers, storage, and backup/disaster recovery into a single solution, making distributed workloads easier to manage. The company was founded in 2008, and raised $55 million in a funding round in 2022, bringing its total funding to more than $200 million from 11 funding rounds.

In September 2024, Scale Computing released the first product in its HC3000 series of hardware. Dubbed the HC3450FG, the hyperconverged infrastructure solution is integrated with an Nvidia L4 GPU to support AI workloads and also contains four Intel Xeon Gold CPUs.

Otava is a global multi-cloud service provider. The company provides its own cloud offering, Otava Managed Azure, and data center colocation services. Its website lists data centers in Indianapolis, Ann Arbor, Mid-Michigan, and Metro Detroit in the US. The company also has a data center presence in the UK and Germany.
