NTT Communications is expanding its reach into what it says is one of the fastest growing markets for internet-related business, with two new Points of Presence (PoPs) in Indonesia.
The PoPs are located in Jakarta, the capital, and offer IPv4 and IPV6 dual stack access to the NTT Tier-1 IP network.
The NTT Com IP network, according to rankings by Renesys Corporation, is the world’s second largest Tier-1 network and the largest in Asia.
“Direct connection to this backbone will ensure availability to highly reliable global infrastructure that internet service providers in Indonesia need to deliver high-performance, low-latency and cost effective global access to their customers,” NTT Com said.
NTT Com said the new PoPs have been designed for use by domestic providers of internet services and content and foreign companies wanting to provide services to the Indonesian market.
Indonesia has a population of more than 240m people, and a compound annual growth in international IP traffic of more than 80%.
