NTT has announced plans for its NAV2 data center in Navi Mumbai, India.
In a recent LinkedIn post, the company said it will be its largest campus in India. The campus will have 500MW of power, with 336MW of IT capacity across three data center facilities.
Further details, including timelines, have not yet been shared.
NTT already operates a data center campus in Navi Mumbai, dubbed NAV1. The first facility NAV1A offers 30MW of IT power across 37,000 sqm (398,264 sq ft). Two more facilities with 30.4MW and 40MW of capacity are expected to join soon.
The company launched a campus in Kolkata, India, last month which will offer 40MW of IT capacity at full build-out. It is also planning a 67.2MW campus in Bengaluru. NTT has more than 18 data centers in operation or in development across India, totaling more than 265MW across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
A report from DC Byte last year said Navi Mumbai and Central Mumbai were two rapidly emerging markets in the APAC region, and updates to Maharashtra’s IT policy have boosted data center development in the city.
Navi Mumbai is home to the likes of Sify Technologies, STT, Colt, AdaniConneX, AWS, and Equinix.
