The company recently officially announced the development of its Nidec In-Row Coolant Distribution Unit, NIR3.0.

The new in-row CDU will deliver a maximum cooling capacity of 3.2MW with full compatibility with the 800VDC high-voltage direct current power standard.

Supporting 800VDC will reduce power conversion and transmission losses compared to traditional AC or lower-voltage DC systems, potentially helping improve PUE.

Nidec aims to begin mass production in the first half of 2027.

Founded in 1973, Nidec Corporation (formerly known as Nippon Densan Corporation) is primarily known as a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of electric motors. The firm also develops in-rack and in-row CDUs and cold plates, and makes music boxes.
