Announced in a recent LinkedIn post, the facility has capacity for 12 racks, though further details have not yet been shared.

The company has simultaneously launched its cloud platform, in addition to its colocation and Edge services.

Nicnet said the data center was built to meet the growing demand of the region’s B2B market, offering colocation and Edge cloud services to companies in the agribusiness, industry, retail, and healthcare sectors.

The facility was built by Trusted Data.

Nicnet founder and CEO Roberto Manella Amoroso said: “Our goal is to build new data centers strategically positioned to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the interior of São Paulo. We believe that the decentralization of IT services is essential to boost the competitiveness of companies in the region.”

The data center is Nicnet’s first colocation facility. Historically, the company has provided Internet services across Brazil.

Nicnet is not to be confused with the Indian government department the National Informatic Centre, also dubbed Nicnet.
