Nebius has agreed to take up capacity at the underdevelopment Oxagon data center in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi AI company Humain and data center developer-operator DataVolt signed the agreement with Nebius on October 21, which will see the neocloud becoming an anchor customer at the campus.
Nebius will initially take off up to 50MW, half of the 100MW currently under construction. Capacity is set to come online in Q4 2027 in phases.
Construction of Oxagon began in September. Phase one of Oxagon is targeting 360MW, and the completed Oxagon campus is targeting a total capacity of 1.5GW.
Oxagon is a floating hexagonal industrial district located in the southwest of Neom, a megaproject city being built in the Tabuk Province and launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2017. Oxagon will lease the land to DataVolt for the development of the facility and provide the operator with infrastructure support. The site will reportedly be powered by Neom’s wind and solar assets.
Nebius will deploy Nvidia-powered computing infrastructure at the data center to support its growing demand.
Rajit Nanda, CEO of DataVolt, said: “Speed to market and infrastructure cost competitiveness will define the winners in the global AI compute race. Reaching this advanced stage of commercial engagement with Nebius within six weeks of commencing construction is a powerful demonstration of our ability to execute at pace and convert development into commercial commitments.
"At Oxagon, we are building at scale, with a clear focus on delivering highly competitive infrastructure costs. By combining Saudi Arabia’s energy advantages with disciplined execution, we are helping create a platform for the Kingdom to compete globally in AI compute – not just as an energy powerhouse, but as an exporter of digital capacity.”
Nebius has a data center presence across the US, the Middle East, and Europe. In addition to its existing data center in Mäntsälä in Finland, the company is currently leasing or set to lease capacity in the UK (in London with Ark DC and Kao Data and in Wales with Vantage), France (Paris, Equinix), Israel (multiple locations, Mega Or), Iceland (Keflavik, Verne), Finland (Lappeenranta, Polarnode), and the US in New Jersey (Vineland, DataOne) and Missouri (Kansas City, Patmos). Nebius has already signed leases this month with Volt in the Netherlands and AIB Data Centers in the US.
The company is also planning a self-build outside Kansas City in Independence, Missouri, and a gigawatt-scale development in Pennsylvania. Nebius is also developing a 240MW data center in Béthune in northern France.
