THW's 5G radio solutions, which leverage AI technologies, will be used to optimize tower energy consumption.

Meanwhile, Mobix specializes in developing connectivity solutions for mmWave 5G and high-bandwidth cable networks. Its portfolio of products includes integrated circuits, antennas, active optical cables, and transceivers.

The partnership follows Mobix's acquisition of RaGE Systems last month. RaGE is a provider of radio frequency joint design and manufacturing services.

"THW has contracted with RaGE Systems to help develop solutions that significantly reduce the power consumption of base stations, cutting the energy costs of 5G towers in half," Mobix said in its announcement this week.

"This exciting collaboration with TalkingHeads Wireless highlights our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability in 5G technology," added Fabian Battaglia, CEO of Mobix Labs.

"With RaGE Systems’ proven track record and THW’s visionary leadership, we are poised to make significant advancements in energy-efficient 5G infrastructure."
