Ola Group's AI subsidiary Krutrim has partnered with Lenovo to build India’s largest supercomputer.

Announced at Lenovo TechWorld India 2025, Ola CIO Navendu Agarwal said the system would be used to develop Krutrim 3, a 700-billion-parameter large language model (LLM).

According to a report from Tech In Asia, Agarwal said the supercomputer will use Krutrim’s proprietary chips, alongside its cloud capabilities and AI models.

No further information about the forthcoming supercomputer has been released. DCD has reached out to Lenovo for more details.

Krutrim announced plans to launch three chips and expand its cloud operations in August 2024. The chips have been named Bodhi, Sarv, and Ojas, with Bodhi developed to target large language models and broader AI models, while Sarv will do more general computing tasks, and Ojas will focus on the Edge.

The company has partnered with Arm and Untether AI for its chip development, with Bodhi set to be followed by Bodhi 2 in 2028, which Aggarwal claimed would be able to handle 10 trillion parameters and support exascale supercomputing.

The news follows Lenovo’s announcement in September 2024 that it would establish a high-performance AI server manufacturing facility in India alongside a state-of-the-art R&D Infrastructure lab in Bengaluru in the southern state of Karnataka.

At the time, Lenovo said it was committed to helping establish India as a critical hub for tech innovation and manufacturing, aligning with the government’s ‘Made in India’ and ‘AI for All’ vision.
