Telehouse’s parent company KDDI has opened a new Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, operating under KDDI's local subsidiary, KDDI Vietnam.

The Ho Chi Minh City GNOC will have a 24/7 system to perform international communication network operation and maintenance within the Southeast Asian region.

With the establishment of an operations center geographically close to neighboring Southeast Asian countries, Telehouse director of sales and marketing Fred Cannone said KDDI will be able to provide higher quality global network service.

“The opening of the new GNOC in Ho Chi Minh City further expands Telehouse’s ability to provide our American customer base with unbridled connectivity throughout the Asian marketplace,” Cannone said.

“Our customers have an inherent need to access the most efficient connection points in Asia, we will look to continue to find ways to expand our connectivity across the Asian region.”

KDDI said Japanese corporations have been intensively advancing into Vietnam on the back of rapid economic development in recent years.

It said significant growth is expected in the ICT field due to the abundance of experts in English, IT, and other proficiencies.

KDDI will develop the local work force from its initial staff of 50 at the center, it said.
