Jarvis Media Group (JMG) is looking to convert an unused office building outside Houston, Texas, into a data center.
The company is aiming to use 100 Plantation Drive, in Montgomery County's Conroe, as an enterprise data center.
According to a posting on Crexi, and being listed by ReLinkPro, JMG will provide 40 percent of the project cost, and is seeking the remaining 60 percent via financing or syndication.
Costs include $727,400 for interior works, $1,272,600 for infrastructure works, $3,639,700 for buildout, and a purchase price of $16.5 million. In total, it comes to nearly $22.14 million, of which $13.5 million is being requested from investors.
The project will see JMG move all of its existing equipment from leased facilities into the redeveloped data center which will "eliminate [the] cost for colocation and save enough money to justify the project."
Space in the data center will be reserved for existing JMG clients who have already executed letters of intent.
The existing building spans four stories, with 68,000 sq ft (6,317 sqm) of floor space. The plot of land surrounding covers 12.84 acres, which JMG notes could "facilitate another office building for future growth requirements."
JMG was founded by John Jarvis, and is described as a "global design and marketing agency." Through its MyBusinessWP unit, the company also offers web hosting services.
DCD has contacted JMG for more information about the services that will be offered from the data center.
Conroe is a suburb of Houston. The office building is currently being used by JMG as its world headquarters.
