IBM is investing US$8m in a new data center in Peru, in the Campus Technology La Molina. 

The facility will, which will open later this year will cover ÔÇïÔÇï500 sq m and will use a double electrical substation, redundant UPS systems, electric generator set, air-conditioners and automatic transfer system.

All equipment will be implemented with high specification, designed for high availability infrastructure. 

It will also be built using green technologies to reduce heat and maximise power to the computers.

Ricardo Fernandez, general manager of IBM for Peru and Bolivia, said: "The new data center is part of our business growth strategy for the consolidation of IBM in Peru, as a provider of high-value services, helping companies of all sectors to boost productivity, reduce costs and increase efficiency."
