US Department of Defense has given HP a US$56m contract to support and enhance personnel security and assurance systems at the Defense Manpower Data Center and to provide development assistance for the Defense Information System for Security.
Marily Crouther, SVP and US public sector general manager at HP Enterprise Services, said it was important to bring together process, personnel and infrastructure for government clients to best utilize resources. “As a long-term partner to DMDC, we have a comprehensive understanding of the processes and requirements needed to establish a solution that will help improve the efficiency of the business,” she said.
Under the three-year task order, HP will provide application management services to monitor, maintain and enhance the Joint Personnel Adjudication System, Defense Central Index of Investigations, Improved Investigative Records Repository and the Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission. These systems provide personnel security management for all DoD employees, military personnel, civilians and DoD contractors.
HP will also create security and data services for the new Joint Verification System, making the environment more modern and standardized. These services will integrate with the DISS user interface components to provide access to the service.
The contractor will migrate the existing JPAS data into the JVS format, utilizing database extraction, transformation and load processes to preserve data quality during the data migration process.
