Abu Dhabi based Injazat Data Systems has obtained the first Tier IV Data Center design certification in the Gulf region.
The 6,660-square-metre facility Located in Abu Dhabi's Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Fully operational, the Data Center will accommodate up to 9,000 servers and associated infrastructure.
The two-storey Injazat Tier IV Data Centre is part of an AED 380 million project that also includes the five-storey Injazat Data Systems Headquarters and an eight-storey car park. The headquarters house 1,000 employees and facilities such as a 200-seat auditorium, a gymnasium, library and a coffee shop.

In October 2007 Cisco signed a deal to provide Injazat, which is a the joint venture of Mubadala Development Company and HP owned EDS, with technology, services support and extensive knowledge transfer to help optimize the security, flexibility, availability and performance of the Tier IV Data Centre. The infrastructure will be based on Cisco's Service Oriented Network Architecture (SONA) that will help enable the continuous evolution of the Intelligent Information Network to accelerate applications, business processes, productivity and profitability.
"Cisco's leadership and solid track record in the local and regional markets, positions the company as the most suitable technology ally for the development of the Tier 1V Data Centre. This association will complement our broad range of IT-managed services and will support us in extending our reach across the region," said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO of Injazat Data Systems.
The data center will target oil and gas, financial services, telecoms, transportation, government, defence, and health sectors with storage and network management, security and privacy, and workplace management incorporating IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards.

Injazat won a 10-year Information Technology (IT) outsourcing contract with the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), valued in excess of $110 million (AED 375 million) and also last it year it signed a memorandum of agreement with Northrop Grumman Corporation for the two organizations to collaborate on a variety of high technology programs and initiatives to further the emirate's economic development strategy.
