Neocloud General Compute has said it will purchase AI systems from chip startup Positron AI.

The company will start by adopting Positron's Atlas inference systems and has committed to the next-generation Titan systems as well.

Atlas is Positron's first-generation chip, was fabricated by Intel in the US, and is currently shipping to customers.

Positron claims the hardware can achieve three times the compute-per-watt of Nvidia’s H100 GPUs and support up to 500-billion-parameter models. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is also deploying the hardware.

Titan, meanwhile, is set to arrive in 2027 and features up to 18.4 terabytes of Positron's "Asimov" memory and either four or eight Asimov chips per server.

General Compute will begin offering Positron's systems in Q1 2027.

"Our mission is to deliver the best neocloud that includes GPUs and alternative chips under one roof. Deliberately pairing AI use cases with optimal architecture and chips for the tasks they need. All under one contract and set of SLAs for our customers," said Finn Puklowski, co-founder and CEO of General Compute.

"Positron AI's architecture is a game-changer for rapidly speeding up tokens and inference. Adding Atlas and Titan to our racks delivers this for our customers."

"Inference demand is exploding, and the frontier has moved to models with trillions of parameters that have to respond in real time," said Mitesh Agrawal, CEO of Positron AI.

"Titan is built for that moment, designed to deliver the highest levels of interactivity at an order of magnitude better throughput per dollar on multi-trillion-parameter frontier models than any solution on the market today. With Atlas, we are proving out General Compute's heterogeneous compute thesis right now, deploying quickly alongside the infrastructure they already run. And because Positron's architecture is uniquely memory-first, we can support a build-out at massive scale without waiting on the scarce HBM supply that is holding back the rest of the industry."

Last month, Positron raised $875 million in a Series C financing round, giving the company a $5 billion post-money valuation. Founded in 2023, the Reno, Nevada-based startup is developing energy-efficient hardware that is purpose-built for inferencing workloads.

General Compute was founded by CEO Finn Puklowski and CTO Jason Goodison. In May 2026, the company raised $15m in seed funding. In July, the company secured $400 million in debt financing. The company specifically targets having a wide variety of AI hardware on offer, and earlier this month signed a multi-year agreement to deploy Cerebras' wafer-scale AI hardware.

Under the contract, General Compute will offer access to Cerebras' technology via its cloud platform starting in Q1, 2027.
