Dubai’s Modern Bakery has enlisted the help of Fujitsu to update its IT infrastructure.
It will use the SAP HANA platform running on Fujitsu Power Appliance, it said the project is designed to provide real-time insight into the business data and financial that can be “critical” for a business in perishable products.
The project will see Modern Bakery as one of the first companies in the region to select SAP Business Suite software.
Modern Bakery is a medium-sized company and claims to be one of the most innovative bakeries in the Middle East. It said it produces over 1,000 products and serves thousands of stores.
It said in order to stay ahead in the food industry it needed to completely update its IT infrastructure. It decided to invest in a real-time platform to manage sales, financial and other business processes.
With the new-implemented IT infrastructure the bakery will be able to see what is selling and what ingredients are nearing expiration.
It is expected to help optimize cash flow by enabling the bakery to check inventory and outstanding invoices in real time.
The bakery said its future plans would be to expand the system to a disaster-resilient configuration.
