A new data center campus is being proposed in Indianapolis, Indiana.
As reported by Channel 8 Wish TV, a company operating through the affiliate Deap Meadows LLC is looking to develop a new data center campus in Franklin Township, in southeast Indianapolis.
Deep Meadows is looking to rezone 468 acres of land along I-74 and Post Road from agricultural and residential to commercial special district to allow for data center use.
Site plans suggest four buildings are planned on the Marion County campus – listed as Project Flo. Further details weren’t available.
Law firm Barnes and Thornburg, representing Deep Meadows, recently met with the community to discuss the project.
Michael-Paul Hart, City-County Council Republican minority leader, told Wish the meeting left him with unanswered questions.
“There was a lot of unknown pieces of information. That was my biggest takeaway,” he said. “I think the petitioners have quite a bit of work to do especially on the financial side of the discussion to how it’s going to impact not only the city of Indianapolis but also the eastside and Franklin Township as well.”
The largely undeveloped land is currently under option pending zoning approval.
