Israeli technology firm Foresight Autonomous Holdings has agreed to acquire a controlling stake of 50.01 percent in a Polish data center developer.

The firm, unidentified in Foresight’s press release announcing its signing of a non-binding term sheet for the acquisition, aims to secure a 66.67 percent interest in two other firms developing data centers in Warsaw, central Poland, and Wrocław, in the country’s southwest.

The two projects have a combined power capacity of up to 270MW. DCD has approached Foresight for comment.

“As we previously announced, Foresight has been evaluating opportunities to expand into new technology markets and identify additional areas for growth beyond our existing activities, including data centers,” said Foresight’s CEO, Haim Siboni. “The proposed transaction is a natural extension of this strategy, providing Foresight with an opportunity to establish a controlling interest in a platform advancing two data center projects in Poland.”

The facility in Warsaw has a planned power capacity of 130MW, with its grid connection application expected to be approved by the end of 2027, reported w.media. Plans call for the data center to be built on a 344,445 sq ft (32,000 sqm) secured plot, with an option to extend it by a further 236,805 sq ft (22,000 sqm). The data center in Wrocław, meanwhile, will be built on a 107,640 sq ft (10,000 sqm) plot, though negotiations to secure the land are ongoing.

Headquartered in Ness Ziona, Israel, Foresight supplies 3D perception systems for applications in the automotive sector, agriculture, and drone manufacturing.

Though the price of the unidentified Polish data center developer remains subject to an independent valuation, the term sheet provides for a convertible loan facility of up to $3.5m to settle any outstanding obligations.

If approved, the transaction will join a growing number of foreign investments into Poland’s data center market.

Recent analysis by xyz.pl of a PwC report on the sector predicted that it would receive cumulative investments of up to PLN 292.90 billion ($75.3bn) between 2027 and 2036.
