Aussie neocloud Firmus has made progress with its data center projects in Tasmania and Indonesia.
In a LinkedIn post, the company said that it has topped out one of the data halls at its project in Launceston, Tasmania, "the first of two 42MW halls," and that primary cooling pipework has been installed.
The company added: "In Indonesia, the first data hall has been handed over by our data center and construction partner, allowing our teams to begin installing HyperCube ahead of compute delivery and installation.
"This is what preparing to ship our HyperCube systems across Asia Pacific looks like: manufacturing, construction, and deployment teams working in parallel, across factories, oceans, and sites. Thank you to our build partners and project teams for the work behind each milestone."
Firmus is developing three campuses in Tasmania, including the Launceston project. The other two are a 288MW data center campus in the Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone in northern Tasmania, and a 52MW data center in Wesley Vale at the old paper mill site in Mill Park, all of which are part of Firmus' Project Southgate initiative under which it is building out capacity across Australia.
Previously, CDC Data Centres was a part of Project Southgate, but has since taken a step back from the partnership.
In Indonesia, Firmus is working with DayOne on a data center in Batam, Indonesia, which is expected to house 170,000 GPUs. Meta is leasing capacity from the facility.
Both Firmus and DayOne are currently pursuing initial public offerings.
