A data center campus is being proposed outside Louisville, Kentucky.
As reported by the Courier Journal and the Oldham Era, Western Hospitality Partners is planning a data center campus known as Project Lincoln: OC Data Center.
The project is being planned on a 267-acre plot of land at 3557 North Highway 53 outside La Grange in Oldham County, some 28 miles northeast of downtown Louisville.
The project will reportedly feature up to eight buildings totaling 2.5 million square feet (232,255 sqm) and an on-site substation on N 1st Avenue. Further details weren’t shared.
“After many rounds of research and assessment, Oldham County has proven to be the ideal home for the OC Data Center,” said Clifford Ashburner, Dinsmore partner, on behalf of Western Hospitality Partners.
Oldham County planning and development director Ryan Fischer told the Courier Journal that Western Hospitality Partners - Kentucky LLC was the company applying for the data center.
Further details on Western Hospitality Partners weren’t available.
Oldham County’s former director of planning and development services, Jim Urban, is a consultant on the project.
“This project helps strengthen America’s position as a global technology leader,” he said. “Oldham County will be proud to host this development in that effort. My participation will assure that the data campus exceeds requirements, addresses all concerns, and benefits the entire community while preserving everyone’s quality of life.”
The county’s technical review committee will hold a meeting to discuss the planned data center on April 16.
