Construction is underway at EdgeCore’s data center campus in Ashburn, Virginia.

Announced in a recent LinkedIn post, the data center firm said the 114MW campus has begun construction, with delivery expected in 2026. The company has also topped out its PH03 campus in Mesa, Arizona.

Located on 45831 Maries Road and 1501 Moran Road in Sterling, the campus comprises two facilities - AS01 and AS02 - in two locations, totaling 114MW across 608,000 sq ft (56,485 sqm) of space.

The AS01 data center under construction is located at Maries Road. The exact capacity and specifications have not been shared.

According to DataCenterMap, the property at Moran Road will offer 42MW at full buildout, whilst the property under construction at Maries Road will offer 72MW.

DCD reported in May 2023 that EdgeCore was looking to build a data center on Horseshoe Drive, less than a mile from Maries Road.

The company also previously filed to develop a four-building campus – known as Edgecore Dulles – in Sterling between Route 28 and Atlantic Blvd. Work is reportedly underway at the site, though not listed on the EdgeCore website.

Digital Realty and CyrusOne also operate facilities in Sterling.

Announced in a LinkedIn post, the operator’s 40-acre campus features three buildings spanning 3.1 million sq ft (288,000 sqm).

PH03 will offer 72MW of IT capacity across 606,388 sq ft (56,335 sqm). The second building was topped out in December and will offer 108MW of capacity across 868,431 sq ft (80,680 sqm).

EdgeCore broke ground on PH01 in 2018, with the facility offering 26MW across 200,880 sq ft (18,662 sqm).

Plans for an expansion were first announced in April 2023.

Launched in 2018, EdgeCore has nine data center campuses across the US in operation or development, spanning Phoenix, Arizona, Virginia, Reno, and Silicon Valley. The company was acquired by Partners Group last year with plans to invest up to $1.2 billion to fund the acquisition and build-out of existing and future data center sites.

The company has also announced plans for a UK data center in Berkshire, though the site is not currently listed on its website.
