Eaton is to acquire data center power enclosure maker Fibrebond in a $1.4 billion deal
The company this week announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Fibrebond Corporation, a designer and builder of pre-integrated modular power enclosures for data center, industrial, utility, and communications customers.
Eaton will pay $1.4 billion for the acquisition of Louisiana-based Fibrebond, which builds structures that protect people and mission-critical equipment for data center, fiber, industrial, and utility markets.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
“Fibrebond is known for its engineering capabilities and customer focus in the industries they serve, including the multi-tenant data center market,” said Mike Yelton, president, Americas region, electrical sector, at Eaton. “Its engineered-to-order power enclosures, in which equipment installation and testing procedures are performed off-site, enables customers to get up-and-running in less time and at a lower cost. This full-service offering allows us to better serve our customers amid accelerating demand.”
Founded in 1982, Fibrebond is expecting revenues of approximately $378 million for the 12 months ending February 2025. The acquisition is expected to generate $110 million of estimated 2025 adjusted EBITDA for Eaton.
Family-owned Fibrebond is due to complete a $150 million expansion on its 252-acre Louisiana campus in Minden later this year.
Post-closing, the Fibrebond leadership team will remain with the business, according to the company’s announcement on the news.
“We stand firmly at the intersection of massive technological shifts. Our accelerating digital infrastructure work now drives industrial and utility growth,” said Graham Walker, president and chief executive officer of Fibrebond. “Our customers build at a scale we did not foresee even a few years ago. Our team has kept up with the growth while retooling for even greater scale. Today more than ever, our customers value the delivery and cost certainty Fibrebond brings to their sophisticated projects.”
