DuPont Fabros Technology, one of the largest wholesale data center providers in the US, has named Jeffrey Foster as executive VP and CFO, replacing Mark Wetzel who resigned to “pursue another opportunity,” according to a company-issued statement.
Foster has been with DFT since July 2007, acting as chief accounting officer since its initial public offering in October 2007. The company said he had 30 years of accounting and finance experience.
Hossein Fateh, DFT's president and CEO, said he was confident Foster's experience and his having been with the company since its formation, that the new CFO was a natural fit for the job. “This experience, as well as Jeff's broad background in a variety of financial and accounting roles, will allow DFT to continue its rapid growth and maintain its position as one of the premier developers and operators of enterprise-class, wholesale data center facilities,” he said.
Prior to joining DFT, he served as senior VP and chief accounting officer of Global Signal, now part of Crown Castle International Corp., which owns, leases and manages communications towers and other communications sites. He has also held senior positions with Danka Office Imaging, Progress Telecom Corporation, Florida Power Corporation and GTE Corporation.
In a statement, Fateh thanked the outgoing CFO Wetzel for contributions he had made over the past five years. “Among Mark's many contributions was the strengthening of our balance sheet and reducing our cost of capital, which has put us in an excellent position for future growth,” he said.
