Cloud company DigitalOcean has signed an agreement with Flexential to bring a high-density GPU deployment to the latter's Atlanta-Douglasville data center.
The deployment will include DigitalOcean's "GPU Droplets" powered by Nvidia H200 and AMD Instinct GPUs, and will be deployed across two connected data halls at the Atlanta-Douglasville 1 data center.
GPU Droplets is DigitalOcean's name for virtual machines designed for AI and machine learning workloads. They are currently available in the company's NYC2 and TOR1 data centers. The Droplets with H100s come in different configurations - with one GPU per droplet, or eight GPUs per droplet.
The quantity of GPUs set to be deployed at the Flexential data center was not shared.
"Flexential's Douglasville facility addresses our need to bolster GPU infrastructure quickly as our AI/ML business continues to grow," said Adam Knapp, vice president of engineering at DigitalOcean. "This expansion extends our footprint to support the specific power and cooling requirements of high-density GPU environments and positions us to meet our customers' expanding AI computing needs."
"Through this partnership with DigitalOcean, Flexential's Atlanta-Douglasville data center plays a pivotal role in delivering high-density computing environments that meet the precise requirements of AI-focused cloud providers," added Patrick Doherty, chief revenue officer at Flexential. "Through our FlexAnywhere platform that enables seamless connectivity and scalability across our national network, this deployment provides the infrastructure foundation for DigitalOcean to scale its GPU Droplets offering, and continue to support developers and businesses building next-generation AI applications."
Flexential's Atlanta-Douglasville 1 data center is located at 1700 N. River Road in Douglasville, Georgia. The facility spans more than 205,000 sq ft (19,045 sqm) and offers 22.5MW of critical power. Each data hall offers 4.5MW of capacity.
