Singapore’s DayOne intends to more than double its active data center capacity to 2.3GW over the next two years, as it prepares to go public.
The data center operator filed its IPO prospectus with US financial regulator the Securities and Exchange Commission this week, announcing its intention to list on New York’s Nasdaq market under the ticker symbol DODC.
DayOne's prospectus reveals it has 962MW of capacity in service as of September 20, up from 675MW in June. It has 1.3GW of capacity currently under construction, compared to 1.1GW in June, and said it expects to deliver this by December 2028.
The company has seen revenue rocket as it has brought more data center capacity online, reporting income of $512 million for the six months to the end of June 2026, up from $151 million for the same period of 2025. However, it made a net loss of $77 million over the last six months, compared to $12 million the previous year.
Formerly the international business unit of Chinese data center operator GDS, DayOne spun out as an independent company last year.
It operates data centers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia (Johor), Indonesia (Batam), and Japan (Tokyo). The company recently broke ground on a site in Thailand and another in Singapore. Last year, it made its first foray into markets beyond Asia, announcing a campus in Lahti, Finland, and has a 300MW facility in the works in Spain.
Rumors of the firm’s IPO first surfaced in January. The company has not announced how much it hopes to raise, but Reuters reported in February that it was aiming to raise $5 billion at a $20 billion valuation.
