Coresite has completed the construction of a new 38,000 sq ft ( 3,530 sqm) 8MW data hall suite at its VA3 data center in Renston, Fairfax County, Virginia.

The newly upgraded data hall features structural reinforcements, a new roof, two generators, and a complete interior fit-out, including 400G AWS Direct Connect cloud access.

Coresite is developing another 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sqm), 4MW data hall on the VA3 site, scheduled for completion in 2025. Following the expansion, VA3 will have reached full build-out.

The data center is certified as Nvidia DGX-Ready, providing the power, cooling, and interconnection needed for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.

The VA3 data center is one of three interconnected data centers across Coresite’s Northern Virginian campus. It is tethered via dark fiber to CoreSite VA1, VA2 sites, and Coresites Washington DC data centers.

Following VA3’s build-out, the campus will have more than 1.3 million sq ft (120,775 sqm) of colocation space and offer up to 100MW capacity. Tenants at the three facilities will also be exempt from the Virginia sales tax on all IT equipment deployed at the data center.

The colocation company acquired the 22-acre industrial park in Reston in 2016 for $60 million.

CoreSite operates 28 facilities across 11 US markets. Outside of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, CoreSite operates data centers in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and the Silicon Valley region.
