Liquid cooling provider CoolIT Systems has launched a new high-capacity liquid-to-liquid cooling distribution unit (CDU).

The company this week introduced the CHx1500, which it describes as the world’s highest-performing, most compact row-based CDU.

The CHx1500 delivers 1500kW cooling capacity with a flow rate of up to 1.2 liters per minute per kilowatt (LPM/kW) at 5°C (41°F) approach temperature difference (ATD). It requires just over 12kW of power.

The liquid-to-liquid CDU is reportedly able to cool up to nine Nvidia GB200 NVL72 racks or up to 63 “enterprise” racks.

CoolIT claims the CHx1500 provides 53 percent greater cooling capacity and 26 percent greater pump pressure capacity than other major row-based CDU manufacturers.

“CoolIT engineered the CHx1500 to exceed AI and HPC’s most demanding cooling roadmap requirements,” said Neil Mulji, CoolIT’s VP for product. “What we created in the CHx1500 is not only the powerful row-based CDU unit in the market – providing the best cost per kW – but also a unit packed with all the advanced features and functionality that our OEM and hyperscale customers expect of CoolIT.”

The rack-sized unit is front and back serviceable with hot-swappable critical components. Control of the unit is available through a 10” touchscreen or remotely through Redfish, SNMP, TCP/IP, Modbus, and several other protocols.

Founded in 2001, CoolIT designs, engineers, and manufactures advanced liquid cooling solutions for the data center and desktop markets, including its split-flow direct liquid cooling technology. The company was acquired by KKR and Mubadala last year.
