Liquid cooling specialist CoolIT has made two leadership changes.
The Canadian company has welcomed Jason Waxman as CEO, and has made COO Patrick McGinn both COO and president at the company.
Waxman joins CoolIT from Fluke Corporation, a company that manufactures, distributes, and services electronic test tools and software, where he was president for four years. Prior to that, Waxman worked at Intel Corporation for more than 23 years, most recently as corporate VP and chief strategy officer of the data center group.
Waxman was also a founding board member of the Open Compute Project.
“I’m honored to join the talented CoolIT team at such a pivotal moment, as the company’s technology plays an increasingly critical role in facilitating sustainable data center growth and enabling the global expansion of AI platforms,” said Waxman. “I believe that CoolIT’s strong history of innovation will serve as a great foundation for future growth, and I am excited to help take this company to new heights.”
Waxman will work closely with COO and newly appointed president McGinn, who has been with CoolIT for more than 13 years in different leadership roles.
“CoolIT is at the forefront of enabling sustainable, high-performance computing, and Jason’s experience and vision will help us lead the next wave of data center innovation,” said Patrick McGinn. “I look forward to working with Jason and the entire CoolIT team as we continue to scale globally, deepen our industry partnerships, and bring advanced direct liquid cooling solutions to more customers worldwide.”
“Jason is deeply committed to CoolIT’s longstanding mission of serving as a trusted, innovative partner to its customers across the rapidly growing global data center market, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the team,” added Kyle Matter, chairman of CoolIT’s bard of directors and head of KKR’s Global Impact team in North America.
Founded in 2001, CoolIT designs, engineers, and manufactures advanced liquid cooling solutions for the data center and desktop markets, including its split-flow direct liquid cooling technology. The company was acquired by KKR and Mubadala in 2023.
In March 2025, the company launched a 1.5MW CDU, and detailed a coldplate it claimed could cool up to 4,000W. The company has since launched a 2MW CDU, the CHx2000.
