Public cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider CloudSigma is the latest cloud service provider to join data center company Equinix’s Cloud Exchange.

By joining the Equinix Cloud Exchange, CloudSigma will be available to enterprises worldwide.

The Equinix Cloud Exchange is designed to accelerate cloud adoption and performance and enable hybrid-cloud IT through secure, on-demand access to multiple clouds and networks.

CloudSigma can utilize the Cloud Exchange to solve the business challenge of providing private cloud access to enterprise customers in an automated, high-performance and cost-effective manner.

CloudSigma will also be able to:
- Establish standardized business processes globally, lowering OPEX while benefiting from automated ordering and provisioning, reducing the time to onboard customer network connections.

- Gain access to private networking services, and the ability to easily interconnect with service providers and enterprises stationed on the Cloud Exchange.

- Equinix’s Silicon Valley SV5 data center is the initial Cloud Exchange connection point for CloudSigma. Equinix said as a customer, CloudSigma has benefited from increased flexibility, scalability and reduced time to market – while enabling the company to win new business via Equinix’s business ecosystem.

The Equinix Cloud Exchange is currently available in 17 markets globally – Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Silicon Valley, Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt – with plans to expand to 19 markets by the end of 2014.
