Chinese state-owned commercial bank China Construction Bank (CCB) has deployed Juniper Networks security solutions at its three next-generation data centers.

CCB is one of China’s 'big four' banks with almost 15,000 branches and sub-branches in China.

CCB is using Juniper Networks’ SRX5800 Services Gateways to securely scale operations to accommodate new e-commerce and big data platforms as well as building a foundation for a future move to the Cloud.

Juniper said its SRX8500 will provide CCB with a near-linear scalability with up to 300Gbps of firewall throughput – this will allow CCB to reduce the number of firewalls deployed in its facility’s and simplify its network while reducing space and power requirements.

It will also help CCB to scale its security in tandem with its robust growth and deliver new online customer services in a cloud environment.

Juniper has supplied CCB with firewalls since 2005 with its products account for approximately 70% of the firewalls deployed within the bank's data centers.

Juniper Networks’ senior director of enterprise sales for greater China enterprise Henry Zhu said CCB hosts hundreds of millions of customer accounts and processes billions of transactions each day.

“That requires king-sized data centers with equally large-scale security,” Zhu said.

“We are now in discussion with the bank to ensure that its journey toward cloud computing is just as secure, every step of the way".
