Nokia will deploy its fiber network offering for Canal+ Telecom in French Guiana and Guadeloupe.
The vendor announced last week that Canal+ Telecom, a subsidiary of Canal+ Group, will deploy its Lightspan and Altiplano products to bolster its fiber network in the two Caribbean countries.
According to Nokia, the fiber will ensure Canal+ Telecom can future-proof its network, while beefing up capacity and driving higher levels of automation in Canal+ Telecom’s network and service operations.
Canal+ will deploy Nokia's Lightspan Mini Optical Line Terminal (OLT) products to help accelerate the rollout of Fiber-to-the Home (FTTH) services across the French Caribbean territories.
Nokia notes that this will serve areas with lower population density. The vendor adds that its Altiplano solutions will support Canal+ Telecom in managing its entire access network more effectively and achieving greater operational efficiencies.
Canal+ will be able to optimize its network with automation features that can detect network anomalies faster, anticipate service-affecting issues before they occur, and improve network utilization.
“As the first operator in the Caribbean to adopt Nokia’s Altiplano platform, we are pioneering intelligent network automation that anticipates and resolves issues proactively, ensuring exceptional reliability and an elevated experience for our customers," said Laurent Champouret, head of network and fixed access engineering at Canal+ Telecom.
Canal+ Telecom serves customers with fiber services across French Overseas Territories.
