Belden has added to its Hirschmann OCTOPUS range, adding a new switch for Industrial Ethernet that features two IP54-rates SFP slots that can be fitted with Gigabit Ethernet of Fast Ethernet receivers.

It is designed for fast deployment in any location, with a ruggardized metal build that measures 261 x 189 x 70mm or 338 x 189 x 70mm, and can operate at temperatures between -40 degrees Celsius and above 70 degrees Celsius.

It has eight vibration proof Fast Ethernet ports that support Power over Ethernet (PoE) that can power IP cameras, Voice-over-IP phones of WLAN access points without needing additional cables.

It is also designed to be integrated with Profinet and Ethernet/IP networks.

Belden has designed the switch using a fanless design, with a redundant 48V power supply. PoE power is supplied through the phantom power method and 15W for each device connected to allow for the use of two-pair cabling systems.
